תְּקַל
תְּקַלII ch. sam(תקלto strike, knock), to stumble, fail (corresp. to h. כָּשַׁל). Targ. Is. 8:15. Ib. 31:3. Targ. Ps. 31:11; a. fr. Pa. תַּקֵּל 1) same. Ib. 56:14 (misplaced in ed. Lag. a. oth. under 57:3). 2) to clear, v. infra. Ithpa. אִתְתַּקַּל, אִתַּקַּל; Ithpe. אִתְּקַל, (אִתְקַל) אִתְּקִיל same; also: to be caught, ensnared. Targ. Ps. 9:17 (h. text נוקש). Ib. 105:37 למִיתַּקָּלָא Ms. (ed. למַתְקְלָא, corr. acc.). Targ. O. Deut. 12:30 (Y. תִּיתוֹקְלוּן). Targ. Hos. 14:2. Targ. Koh. 9:12 מִיתַּקְּלִין (ed. Vien. מוּתְקָלִין Hebraism); a. fr.B. Kam.29a איתקיל (איהו) ואִיתְּקִילָאוכ׳ Ms. M. (ed. דאתקול ואתקילה, read with Rashi דאתקיל) when he stumbled, and the camel stumbled over him. Af. אֵתְקַל, אַתְקֵיל 1) to cause to stumble; to weaken.
